Thank you for initiating this blog! As the mom of a Caltech frosh, I’m craving news and an insider’s view, so I’m thrilled to read your words. So far, it sounds wonderful. Best of luck as classes start. I look forward to reading more from you.

Very cool and thanks. I went through a similar experience on the other side of the country @ MIT but I think Caltech is cooler (it is what MIT was supposed to be like before they became big and bureaucratic). Our son is in your class btw, and from what we hear he is having a great time, really enjoying finally being with people like himself. Keep writing and good luck with your classes and problem sets.

    Cool -

As an old darb from the 70’s, I was amused. (blacker is responsible for the steam tunnels? B&G might think otherwise)…

Good luck! and even more luck on the glomming thing…

As a female ‘12 who just matriculated, thank you thank you thank you for this blog! It makes me even more excited to be going to Caltech!

I was also temped at Ruddock at PFW this year, and really really liked it. OPI sounds awesome.

I keep a daily blog now, so I hope to have time at Tech to carry on the tradition :)

    Yo~

You know, I was looking for info on the steam tunnels last night because we were tunneling and came across it. Got curious and looked around the blog a little more this morning, and wouldn’t you know that I found out it’s yours. XD (I’m in your Interhovse pictures, wut.) This really is a small school.

Anyway, really do like the “slice-of-life” feel of your blog. :3 Makes me want to do one of my own, outside of my normal “I hate math and physics and core and science and WHY AM I EVEN AT THIS SCHOOL” blog. You’ve done an amazing job here and you’ve kept me quite entertained when I could be working on physics problem sets.

(Hm, I wonder if HTML works on comments here.)
